Fourth workshop of the Empowering Teachers Network in LAC: Adapting for Our TPD Systems: Observing TPD Adaptations in LAC and Evaluation Processes for our Models
April 10, 2025

The fourth workshop of the Network, held on April 2, 2025, began by revisiting key discussions and reflections from previous sessions and centered around Course 4: Adapt for Your Context from the TPD@Scale courses. During the session, we explored the importance of monitoring and evaluation in TPD initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean.
In this context, the Fundación Educación 2020 (Chile) shared an interesting presentation on a teacher professional development initiative implemented in Honduras and Nicaragua: Peer Tutoring in the Americas (TEPA): Innovation in Rural Education. Following the presentation, colleagues from the Professional Development Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of El Salvador and the University of Costa Rica offered comments and questions. Their reflections on the role of evaluation, monitoring, and scalability in TPD models added valuable insights to the group discussion. To close the session, participants engaged in a brief plenary to share final thoughts and takeaways.
This fourth workshop marked the conclusion of the Network’s first workshop cycle, which was centered around the four TPD@Scale courses. It also signaled the beginning of a new phase of collaborative development within the Network, with new activities and seminars announced for the upcoming months.
